    over 100 years old.

Pioneer Log Siding is a painstaking procedure. We go
quickly but we never jeopardize the integrity of a single board.
New kiln dried DF boards are hand hewn and distressed
    to simulate historic square logs.

    Approx board Thickness is 1.5
 after crafting.
Pioneer Log Siding is cost effective, durable, thick and
energy efficient. Each log siding piece is hand crafted to
appear genuine just like the old historic
log cabins did. Pioneer Kiln Dried and contains splits,
cracks and knotholes. With each painstaking step, more
rustic charm is added to its frontier beauty.
In those days no two logs were identical, nor is our pioneer
siding. The older it becomes the more antithetically
historic it appears. Pioneer Log Siding could last a lifetime,
just like our ancestor’s log cabins did.

We start each day by stepping back into our ancestor’s boots
to hand-hew, carve, sculpt, distress and sand one board
at a time. Unlike competitors who fabricate factory-milled
boards with beveled edges, we offer a GENUINE
historic looking siding staying true to our Frontier tradition.

Each board is hand-hewed and crafted,
    to simulate that authentic aged,
    rugged
    pioneer look.
Pioneer Pre-Age Staining
All Pioneer products come pre-age-stained ready
to install when they reach your site.
A Two Step Process by Hand
We never spray stain to avoid the artificial appearance it leaves. Every
unique board is age-stained
across sawhorses one board at a time.
Unlike Round logs needing constant Attention

Pioneer needs none, unless you want a fresh new look. The more
Pioneer Log Siding ages the more
    historically authentic it appears.

Raw Unstained Log Siding.

Staining is part of the "secret sauce" that makes a Pioneer siding board
    like
    no other board you'll find.
	  We use our "Aged-Stain" process.
Pioneer Log Siding comes stained or unstained at the same cost.
We use our "Aged-Stain" process. When the siding is purchased unstained,
the finish is up to the customer and will not match ours.
Pioneer Fascia Boards
Pioneer fascia boards differ from Pioneer Log Siding because; they are distressed on both sides and one edge. However if they are seen from only one side only, the cost is the same as a pioneer log siding board in the same width and length.
 Moisture and Shrinkage
We only use New Doug Fir, Kiln Dry #2 Boards.
WE NEVER USE GREEN LUMBER AND HERE'S WHY:

Kiln dried lumber is lumber that has been heated in a kiln so that it has a low moisture content.
When the drying process is complete, the lumber usually has low moisture content of
between 6% and 8%, making it significantly dryer than green lumber; or air-dried lumber.
Many hardware stores and lumber companies stock such lumber for their clients, and this
type of wood is ideal for a wide range of wood working projects.

NOTE: If you are considering reclaimed square logs from an old existing cabin site please
consider a bit more: hidden larva, heavy moisture, brittleness and crystalizing of the deteriorating
wood. Not to mention all of the logs and labor costs ahead.

Pioneer Log Siding is completely new but historically aged. It’s a simple light weight siding
installation compared to real square logs and should accomplish the same results.

We create Pioneer Log Siding but do not install it.
